WordPress Hosting
We love WordPress and use it for almost all of our websites. You can use it for a personal site about travel, cooking, wedding, or many other subjects. You can also use it for business to get traffic, sell virtual or physical products, and also to have a professional appearance.
It’s incredibly important to use the best hosting to ensure speed and reliability for your website. There are many WordPress hosting companies out there, but here are our top two:
InMotion – they have been hosting since 2001
SiteGround – they have been hosting since 2004
InMotion and SiteGround both have incredible WordPress hosting packages and have an extensive help sections. They typically have shared WordPress plans for under $3.00 per month, which is amazing for the speed and quality they both provide.
Which company should you choose? They’re both rock solid choices and it’s entirely up to you. We encourage you to look at both companies to see what your preference is. Just know that when you sign up with either company you will be in good hands 🙂
WordPress For Business or Personal Websites
It’s incredibly easy to get started and the hosting companies we suggested above make it simple to install it. There are many incredible free themes, but if you want the best options you’ll want to purchase a theme.
Managing your website is also easy due to the interface provided by WordPress. You can have a basic website live within minutes! The basic steps:
- Purchase WordPress hosting from InMotion or SiteGround
- Install WordPress by clicking the links provided by either of these
- Log into the WordPress admin area
- Install a free theme or purchase a theme if you need one
- Create a Post or Page and publish it
- Your site is live!
WordPress and WooCommerce For Stores
Did you know that WooCommerce is free? It’s amazing software that allows you to create store to sell physical or virtual products. Many free themes support WooCommerce, but for the best integration and usabiility you’ll want to purchase a theme.
How to install WooCommerce
- Log into the WordPress admin area
- Click Plugins on the left side
- Type “WooCommerce” in the search bar (no quotes)
- Click “Add”
- Click “Activate”
- That’s it!
You’ll need to configure it to get started adding products and adding payment methods. The configuration can be a little challenging for new users, but there are so many videos that show you how to set it up. You can also hire someone to do it for you on Fiverr or UpWork.
Conclusion
We can’t speak highly enough about WordPress and suggest you seriously consider using it for any website you want.
There are far more things that you can (and should) configure within WordPress, but it’s the easiest way to have a website in our opinion. Add a Theme to give you the look you want, add Plugins to extend the functionality, and then configure anything else after it.
